I just went through a 5 month nightmare with AdvantaClean gouging the bill to where I had to hire an attorney... from 20,000.00 for 6 days to finally settling for 3739.78. They completely misrepresented what they could do... I only had some smoke damage... yet they took the job. No quote was ever given and no itemized bill was ever received by my businesss my insurance company or my lawyer. Beware!!!

Franchise Owner

I feel like I was mislead, and outright lied too, when purchasing my Advantaclean franchise. Plus, the lack of support, the arrogance of the leadership team and the deception is overwhelming. We are treated more as employees than business owners. Advice to new owners: These businesses just do not sell, most would be lucky to get their initial investment back. If you plan to buy one of these franchises, call 15 owners and do not let the franchise pick which ones you talk to. The call center directs the calls on the FDD, so say that you are a customer looking to talk to the owner. Many owners are afraid to say how they really feel, in fear of reprisal, so ask direct questions that can't be circumvented. Me personally, I rarely talk to potential owners. I prefer not to irritate the franchise, but I am not going to be dishonest to a potential buyer. Open discussion is not tolerated by the Advantaclean leadership team. They have a saying here, "If you step outside the fence you get shot." Do not fall for the ROBS, 401K funding route, as there are some serious issues, and this is something Advantaclean really promotes. There is significant turnover rate with these franchises, but that will be significantly underplayed, and several owners have been threatened with lawsuits after walking away from their failing businesses. The potential earnings however, will be significantly overplayed, like on most websites that I have seen. Also don't buy into the executive model the CEO will certainly try to sell you on. Maybe 6 out of 120 owners can run this business from their office, the rest are out in the field. You will be in a crawlspace for your first several years, that is a guarantee!

Franchise Owner

I purchased a franchise from Advantaclean Systems years ago, and I feel that I was vastly oversold and conned. In my experience the training was poor, direction non-existent, and the equipment package vastly overpriced. Advantaclean franchises are extremely hard to sell, but you will be told differently. If you are lucky, you may get your initial investment back, most are just trapped. If you try to walk away, Jeff will threaten you with unpaid royalties for whatever remains of your 10 year term. Not many succeed, and the resentment among owners is quite high. Only a handful are doing really well, the majority are still climbing in and out of crawlspaces. Do your research, talk to a lot of owners, and go into business for yourself. Advice for new owners: 1) Avoid the ROBS program 2) Talk to 15 owners of your choosing, the numbers on the FDD are controlled by the call center. So don't say you are a prospective buyer, say you are a customer that needs to talk to the owner. Many owners are afraid to be honest, so ask direct questions, not sentimental ones. 3) The promised executive model works for very few.

Advanta Clean Customer Care Review

Do not let this business pack away your belongings, especially your electronics. They will damage your property and not own up to it. I found the supervisor to be very unprofessional.

New ownership refuses to honor existing contract

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Had dealt with this company previously and had great results and customer service. Have a fully executed contract with them for work under my house but ownership changed in June, 2016. New ownership refuses to honor the contract saying the previous representative is no longer with the company. They submitted a new proposal with higher price and covering fewer services. It's a shame that the new ownership no longer conducts business honorably the way the former ownership did. We have dealt with their competitors in the past as well and never have we had someone not honor a written contract. Several people have left the company including the representative that negotiated the contract, got it approved internally, and signed it.

Dryer vent cleaning gone horribly wrong!

Chuck from Advantaclean in the fairfield county franchise came to clean the duct of my dryer (which had been working...this was supposed to be a maintenance call). He did something that shorted the heating mechanism. Had to get that repaired (which Chuck said he would pay for). During the repair, the repairman said that something was wrong with the vent and it no longer blows the hot air out. Hmmm. Now I will will go to dryer vent wizard and probably have to pay another $100+. This little maintenance issue is going to cost me at least $350 all thanks to Advantaclean. Do yourself a favor and use another company. Oh and Chuck said he would pay for the repair man...the check is in the mail. That was almost two weeks ago. They are charlatans!!!

The professional setup not only helps the home to get cleaned but it also improves the quality of your machine. Dryer vent cleaning services use specified blowers, vacuums, and brushes to clear the dryer vent system’s air flow. Not only does a dryer vent cleaning assure the air quality of interiors at your home, but it can also aid advance energy capability levels.

Manar Cgl

Always go for professional dryer vent regularly cleaning as lint is the most dangerous thing when it comes to dryer vent cleaning. It can cause malfunctioning of the dryer and catch fire.

Water damage, burst pipe

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We suffered a frozen and then burst water pipe in our basement while we were out of town and our basement took on about 37,000 gallons of water before we returned and shut off the water to the home. We quickly did some online research and found that Advantaclean had consistently positive online reviews (4-5 review stars from anyone who seemed credible), and so we called them right away. Mark and Pat arrived within hours with a full crew despite the fact that pipes were bursting all over the Denver area due to a prolonged period of sub-zero temperatures. I cannot say enough positive things about this company and Pat and Mark. They worked amazingly quickly to move a multitude of possessions and large pieces of furniture out of the affected areas, and documented in great detail every stage of the abatement and remediation process (demolition of water-damaged drywall, flood-cuts as necessary, mold inspection and testing, etc.) with photos, computer renderings, and descriptions for insurance purposes. They also were outstanding communicators, and took a great deal of time to explain everything they were doing and never were impatient or too rushed to provide thorough and thoughtful answers to any question or concern. Mark and Pat also were extremely helpful in communicating insurance claim and procedures advice, and have a long list of contractors and other referrals who they suggested could help with the restoration and rebuilding process. The company, its principals and employees’ honesty and integrity is beyond question, which I emphasize as an important consideration when it comes to selecting a water damage abatement company. Moreover, we even became friends during what proved to be a lengthy process due to the amount of damage sustained. In conclusion, I recommend this company highly and would give it ten stars if that were a reviewing option.

Advanta Clean - Pipe Repair Review from Charlotte, North Carolina

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I recently had a frozen pipe to burst in my home on 01/09/14. I called Advanta Clean as they were the only one who were able to come out to begin water mitigation as the companies I called were busy. Advanta came out that night to begin mitigation. As soon as they arrived I was asked by Craig R. what was my deductible and that I would need to pay him what my deductible is. I stated I didn't know but once I speak with the adjuster I'll let you know. Needless to say I was hounded for 3 days by Craig in regards to the deductible. I simply told Craig to contact my adjuster. My adjuster then told me Craig said he felt I was lying to him about my deductible and he only wanted to make sure he got paid. Really? You harass a homeowner who just experienced a loss and us concerned about getting her home back to the way it was. I will never recommend Advanta to anyone as all they care about is getting paid. Also on the Friday night they came out one of the techs smelt like alcohol so go figure. Do not use this company.

Water Damage

I had water damage that took place in my basement this past weekend. Advanta Clean handled my situation very professionally. They took the time to access the situation and made suggestions as to what needed to be done to get the mold out and fix the water damage. The price was very fair and reasonable for the hours they put in to clean out the mold and fix the minor damages. I would recommend this company to others and Anton Gauna did above and beyond meeting my standards. I am very happy with my basement and liked that Advanta Clean was very proactive in getting the mold out of basement within 24 hours from making the estimate.

Unqualified owner+inadequate supplies=Fire!

So, after an appointment was scheduled for our tenants heating vents to be cleaned, the pains started. So AdvantaClean of Greater Hartford had a two man crew show up. I'll give the two technicians credit. They showed up exactly on time, which was great. But, once the guys started loading up equipment...that's where everything went wrong. First they had a severely severed etension cable (which the owner of the company who later showed up admitted to knowing about and didn't say anything to his guys). Then when the techs went to cut an access panel into the inlet side of the ducting, they didn't have the proper bit to cut the metal. Only wood cutting bits...lol...really?! Once again upon asking the owner why his techs didn't have the proper cutting tools, he responded with "Yeah, I forgot to give them the bits they needed back at home." Oh, not to forget that these guys didn't even have flashlights so they could see where they were working. What in the world? And then it happened. So instead of shutting off the furnace pilot valve they left it on. Hence once they installed the bladder to catch all the debris that would eventually come out, the bag caught on fire!!! Plastic near fire...who would have imagined that?! Did I forget to mention that I was the one who grabbed my home fire extinguisher and was also the one who shut the furnace down? When I asked the techs if they carried a fire extinguisher they both told me that they didn't supply them with one. So, you can imagine that being covered in soot wasn't part of my plans for the day. The techs were pretty good guys though. They just had a *** supervisor/boss. So when the "boss" man finally comes to see what's going on...he gives my wife the run around about why we shouldn't get a new extinguisher and a whole lot of hot air about why we shouldn't get a discount. Then after I bring up all the facts about what has happened thus far, he tries to get out of it by blaming his techs. Really?! Ummm...craptacular owner/boss/supervisor. So after being "called out" he tries to say that he was sick and that he shouldn't be out in the field. Funny how he sat out in his truck for about half an hour AFTER he slammed the door to our house as he walked out. What a WONDERFUL experience...btw that was sarcasm. I would never ever again use these people. Or recommend them to anyone while this joke of a boss is running the show.

where did all the mess take place,NJ ??

I am sorry but mistakes happen. I think that the customer is letting of some steam, and have misrepresented us.

I did give them a $50 discount for their troubles, I gave them a new fire extinguisher, I also left a HEPA filtered air scrubber for 1 1/2 days to clear the air of any odors, and we also returned to do some extra cleaning and vacuuming to make sure that nothing from the event was left behind. As the owner of this company I do what I can to ensure that our customers are satisfied, but mistakes sometimes happen.

Unfortunately the technician made a mistake and things went wrong. My illness is no excuse for what went wrong, but we do a thorough job and never leave a customer with any problems, even when things go wrong.

You should have been more customer service oriented. It doesn't sound like your sub-contract guys knew anything about what they where doing. Shame on you!
